Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has made a fresh prediction about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement reported on September 22–23, 2026, Ayodele said that if Tinubu wins re-election in 2027, he may not complete the second four-year term. He further suggested that Vice President Kashim Shettima could eventually take over the presidency.
Ayodele compared his prediction with the situation surrounding the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died in office in 2010. He suggested that circumstances similar to those of the Yar’Adua administration could potentially result in a change in leadership.
The cleric also made claims concerning Tinubu’s health and urged the President and his family to pay attention to his wellbeing. However, those health-related claims have not been independently verified and should not be regarded as a medical assessment.

Ayodele’s comments have generated reactions because they touch on one of the most closely watched issues in Nigerian politics: the 2027 presidential election and the possibility of Tinubu seeking a second term.
