2026 Fongu Mini Cultural Festival: Bonny Local Government Chairman Approves ₦53.5 Million Sponsorship for 65 Cultural Groups
BONNY ISLAND — In a major boost to cultural preservation and community heritage, the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, has approved a total sum of ₦53.5 million in direct sponsorship for participating cultural groups in the upcoming 2026 Fongu Mini Cultural Festival.
The initiative reflects the administration’s continued dedication to promoting the rich traditions and indigenous arts of the Ibani people.
A total of 65 cultural groups across four major categories have been listed as final beneficiaries. The allocation covers:
34 Owu-Ogbo Groups (including 9 Ogbokoroama groups)
17 Okonko Groups
14 Ere-Mini-Ogbo Groups
Invitation to Presentation Ceremony
The Council Chairman invites the President, Captain, Secretary, and Lady Captain of all 65 approved cultural organizations to attend the official cheque presentation ceremony.
