Rivers Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Killing Girlfriend in Eneka Domestic Dispute
PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA — The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Richard Emmanuel, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Caroline Sunday.
The Fatal Altercation
According to local sources, the deadly confrontation unfolded last Saturday after Emmanuel accused Sunday of infidelity.

The disagreement quickly turned physical when the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim. During the physical altercation, Sunday was reportedly pushed or struck, causing her to lose her footing. She fell backward, striking her head violently against the sharp edge of a wall, sustaining catastrophic injuries.
Neighbors Attempt Rescue
Residents who rushed to the scene after hearing Sunday’s desperate cries for help reportedly discovered her lying unconscious in a pool of blood. Neighbors made immediate attempts to administer first aid and revive her, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.
Responding police officers eventually transported Sunday to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel officially confirmed her dead.

Police Confirm Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
The Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Blessing Agabe, confirmed the suspect's arrest to correspondents.
"I can confirm that the suspect is currently in police custody as we speak," ASP Agabe stated. "An investigation has been actively launched to determine the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and to ensure that justice is served for the victim."
The police spokesperson assured the public that the command is committed to carrying out a transparent, diligent, and unbiased investigation to ensure that due process is strictly followed.
