Gabonese-Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Jam TheBrain has released his debut studio album, RESILIENCE, a 12-track project that explores the experiences, challenges and lessons that have shaped his journey as an artist.
Born Jean Aime Moukouti, Jam TheBrain has developed a sound that brings together Afrobeats, Afro-R&B, Amapiano and contemporary African pop. His music is shaped by his African roots and experiences in the diaspora, with his songwriting touching on love, vulnerability, identity, ambition and personal struggles.
At the heart of RESILIENCE is the idea of continuing forward despite difficult moments. The album explores struggle, heartbreak, survival, self-belief, ambition and growth, turning different experiences into a collection of songs about finding the courage to keep going.

The album also captures Jam TheBrain’s journey across different countries and cultures. From Gabon to Canada and now Nigeria, each stage of his journey has contributed to the artist he is today. His use of English, French and Ghisir further reflects the different influences that have become part of his identity and music.
A strong Nigerian connection runs through the project, with RESILIENCE featuring Teni, Terry Apala and Hotkeed. The collaborations bring different sounds and perspectives into the album while marking an important stage in Jam TheBrain’s growing relationship with the Nigerian music scene.
One of the album’s featured records is “Duck Goose” featuring Teni, a breakup song focused on the experience of realizing that some people never truly loved you. “Dunno” featuring Terry Apala came together during a single afternoon recording session, while “Strong” featuring Hotkeed carries a deeply personal message inspired by advice from Jam TheBrain’s mother.
The album comes after years of building his musical identity. Jam TheBrain gained wider exposure in 2017 after appearing on the second season of the pan-African music reality show La Voix Afrique Francophone. He later released Premiers pas in 2019 and TOI in 2023, before returning in February 2026 with the seven-track EP If You Knew (Si Vous Saviez).
With RESILIENCE, Jam TheBrain brings those different stages of his journey into one body of work. The album moves between personal experiences and broader themes of perseverance, offering listeners a closer look at the person and experiences behind the music.
The 12-track project connects Gabon, Canada and Nigeria, reflecting an artist whose journey continues to evolve across borders while remaining rooted in personal storytelling and African musical influences.
Jam TheBrain’s RESILIENCE is out now and available on digital streaming platforms.
